What do you think? If it for sure big and tall! But believe it or not, the construction is so well designed that you can still pick it up with only 2 hands! Handy!
Stay tuned for more info and more feature reveals about this machine!
GBC 53 Marble Music Machine – 42146 Alternate Build
Last Saturday we had the joy of organising a GBC Workshop here in the Netherlands together with the HetMartinBuber College. Many builders took a turn and together we were able to complete modules from the GBC 21 Mine Factory. Focussing on all the mechanical aspects which bring this machine alive. It was great to see the many builders collaborating together and getting stuff done!
One of the fastest builders we know has done it again. The only hold up was the GBC Funnels which Pete wanted to include in the GBC. Watch his GBC 51 Gravel Works in action featuring the 2 GBC Funnels in full action.
The upcoming GBC 53 Marble Music Machine will be able to play 8 notes in any order you like by using physical programming pins on the programming wheel. Getting the GBC Balls to the top is not the hardest part. But how to divide them evenly over the 8 notes that needs to be played? We tried different solution and we stuck with the software driven option as this would be the most flexible over times when users program their own songs.
In the video you will see that the dividing arm stops every second. This allows the using to fill the most important notes to be filled up first. Of course you can change all this behaviour in the software. We will carefully explain how in the building instructions.
And start writing music! Our upcoming GBC 53 Marble Music Machine can play beautiful tunes with GBC Balls! Created entirely from parts of the LEGO 42146 Liebherr Crawler.
Last year we provided a very cool workshop for the HetMartinBuber college in the Netherlands. Students used programming, mechanical and artistic skills to create beautiful patterns. All was possible by using our Smart Spirograph Spinner and Pybricks for coding.
