Source of inspiration!

Ever wondered about the sources of inspiration of our engineers? It’s all around them: inspiration is found in daily observations. Think for example of the GBC 38 Funky Ferris Wheel or the GBC 47 Mill Madness! Just like most human beings, inspiration is, however, also found in social media. A great example is Wintergatan’s Marble Machine (check it out below!), a truly fascinating machine, which inspired the use of our Xylophone Keys! Who knows, maybe we’ll create such a machine ourselves one day? Wouldn’t that be cool?

Fun Fact Friday: GBC 33 Goofy Golf Park!

The Shooter Module includes 3 smaller mechanisms which work beautifully together to get a perfect hit every time! Designing these complex mechanisms in the most efficient, compact and reliable way possible really took the inner engineer out of us again. By spending a lot of hard work and brain power in this sub part alone we were able to succeed again.
Incorporating our GBC Funnel XL in the GBC 33 was one of the easiest tasks and felt like a pleasant change of workload ;)

Now online: The GBC 47 Mill Madness Video!

Although it took some longer than usually, the video of our GBC 47 Mill Madness is finally online! We wanted to bring back our Dutch culture into our designs and what better way than by including our typical Dutch Windmill. This GBC also features the option to easily switch between the different GBC Funnels. Check out the different modules and let us know what you think!

Workshopaholics!

Sometimes we get the question why we love giving workshops so much. Well… It’s hard to put it into words on paper/screen, but let me try by giving an example.

Recently we had the pleasure of giving a STEAM workshop to a group of teachers-to-be, many of whom hardly had any experience with Lego Technic. Although the students didn’t know what to expect, they proved to be very eager builders! During our workshop, all initial awkwardness disappeared and people got really enthusiastic. It’s absolutely great to see how people get absorbed into the workshop and are introduced to the STEAM and SCRUM methods. The best part, though? When people start raving about how they can use the things they have learned in their own practice!

Throwback Thursday: Defying Gravity!

I’m flying high, defying gravity!

~ Defying Gravity, Wicked

Throwback time! In today’s spotlight: the GBC 16 Inverse Belt Lift! When it comes down to the reason I like this GBC, I guess there’s not much need for second guessing: the Inverse Belt Lift Module. Although the rest of the GBC is quite a plain design, the Inverse Belt Lift is an unique module, carrying the balls upwards up-side down, wicked right?! Next to this, the GBC contains some nice timingsmechanisms. If, however, you prefer a bigger GBC, that’s also a possibility. Just take the module and insert it with other modules to create your own GBC! That’s why I love this GBC, it’s a plain, but unique GBC full of possibilities!
