It has never been easier to build a complete Great Ball Contraption (GBC) loop yourself! This GBC is entirely built using only parts from the LEGO 8258 Crane Truck set and can be referred to as alternate build of the 8258. When building, this GBC makes sure you master the GBC building techniques and tricks so that you eventually can build your own GBCs.

With a footprint of 89 cm (35 inch) by 48 cm (19 inch) and a height of 43 cm (17 inch), this GBC is quite a build! Using almost all the LEGO parts that come with the original LEGO set, you need to assemble over 1800 parts and go through almost 500 pages of building instructions to build 4 great individual GBC modules which all work together in harmony to make a full loop. In this way the ball flow will never end. The whole machine is powered by one LEGO motor which comes with the LEGO 8258 Crane Truck set.

Work Together – Enhance building skills

While building the GBC 62 Lifting Factory you will learn basic engineering at its best like gearing, forces, sturdy constructions, automation, cool mechanism like the Telescope Lift mechanism and so much more!

The whole GBC is split into different parts/modules which are assembled together during the built. Ideal for working in groups as each builder can work on a module sub assembly and later click everything together. Because of this construction and flexibility it is also always possible to separate the modules again and make your own unique configuration.

It is possible to move the whole structure at once when you hold it right. Footprint of the GBC 62 Lifting Factory: 89 cm (35 inch) by 48 cm (19 inch) .

Fun Fact

Building a GBC from an older LEGO set had become really refreshing and you start realizing the differences between new and older LEGO parts! The LEGO 8258 Crane Truck set is from 2009 and nowadays you take certain parts for granted which didn’t exist back then. Like the useful 3 stud long axle joints in various formations. Despite this reality check it still has many great basic parts with many beams and axles in various lengths. All basic parts, and that is the beauty of it. Even if you don’t own this LEGO set, chances are high you already have every LEGO brick in your inventory from other LEGO sets.

If you don't have the required LEGO set there is still a chance you can build our models by using parts you already have. Most technic models use a lot of the same and/or replaceable parts. When watching the video and checking upon the building instructions you can easily see which parts can be replaced if you desire so.
What cool color designs can you come up with?!

Unfortunately the part list of the GBC 62 Lifting Factory is not available yet. Please check the part list of the original LEGO set.
