It has never been easier to build a complete Great Ball Contraption (GBC) loop yourself! This GBC is entirely built using only parts from the LEGO Mercedes-Benz Arocs Truck and uses 92% of all the pieces that come with it. Also to be referred to as model C of the 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245. This GBC makes sure you master the GBC building techniques and tricks so that you eventually also can build your own GBCs. The whole machine is powered by one LEGO motor which comes with the LEGO 42043 Set.

Do you have it to be a Pinball Wizard?

The GBC 12 Pinball Wizard is different than all our other GBCs. It’s for sure bigger than the original LEGO model but it features a big wide play deck where balls can get bounced, launched and pushed around in. You can even interact with this GBC and be a part of the module! This deck has a few mechanical installations on board to really get the max out of the balls. Balls will fall, launch, make side movements, go through tunnels and much more. There’s also a direction change mechanism to make the balls go more random. On top of that the whole deck also changes the slope automatically to make the play experience even more diverse. It’s so much fun to see this machine in action! While building this GBC you will learn a lot of mechanism like the Scotch Yoke Mechanism, Telescopic Transmission, flipflops and general engineering with forces, gearing and many other mechanical constructions.

Interactive is the key word for this GBC as you can make/change the behavior of the balls yourself by modifying the play deck. Build your own epic contraption, slots, pushers, guiders etc. on top of the play deck with the left over parts from the LEGO 42043 Set. Some of the mechanical elements of this GBC are pneumatically controlled and fully automated to trigger randomly. There’s also an option to control the pneumatic valves manually. We built in a spinning axle sticking out through the play deck so you easily connect your own awesome spinning element to it. Creativity is the limit here. (one default spinning element is given with the building instructions). The whole structure is very sturdy and batteries can easily be replaced and locked.

Fun Fact

Once we got our hands on the LEGO 42032, getting the pneumatics involved was a must! First of all we love to thinker with this super power and we know that you do too. It has the handy small pneumatic pump which can easily be operated by a LEGO motor. 3 individual mechanisms use the pneumatic cylinders in various ways. To control these seemingly random we had to come up with a system which would control the pneumatic valves in such way. Moving valves by hand is not soo hard but when wanting to automate it you need a sturdy construction to make it work. To make sure that all valve would operate at different speeds we used a simple gearbox to slow down or speed up the valve operation. This turned out to work great in the end.

If you don't have the required LEGO set there is still a chance you can build our models by using parts you already have. Most technic models use a lot of the same and/or replaceable parts. When watching the video and checking upon the building instructions you can easily see which parts can be replaced if you desire so.
