Repurpose your old LEGO 9V electronics!

Exciting news! For the last 6 months we have been working hard on something very cool in the background. As fanatic LEGO builders ourselves we have a lot of old LEGO 9V electronics, as teased recently in a previous post. Until now we were not able to use them easily in LEGO projects as they have a power connector which does not fit to the new LEGO connectors Powered Up and Power Functions. Well, this is now something of the past!

Today we have released 4 new products which all connect to the 9V System. The 9V System was used for a very long time and many different motors and cool lights have been introduces in the last few decades. There are many components which are never released for the newer LEGO power systems, which got them stuck in the past. We have faced many problems in creating this 9V System connector and it really took all skills from us to make a strong and reliable connector, meeting the LEGO tolerances.
You can now for example control a very old LEGO train with the latest Smart Hub from LEGO. How cool is that! (See video below)

Next to this being able to unleash new super powers and creativity, it also gives a great feeling of being able to re-use something for good. So dust of your old LEGO electronics and get started again. What LEGO electronics would you like to mix and match?

It has also came to our attention that the cable from the original 9V extension cable is very brittle and can short your LEGO. This is very dangerous as it can harm your LEGO, something nobody wants! For this we have also released a 9V System Extension Cable to replace the original cable. Available in 3 different lengths.
