Steam Eduation Workshop @ Sioux Technologies

Last week we had the tremendous joy of bringing one of our Steam Education workshops (using LEGO Technic) to Sioux Technologies in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Sioux is a strategic high-tech solutions provider that develops, innovates and assembles complex high-tech systems. A perfect audience for introducing to the wonderful world of Great Ball Contraptions!
Employees and their children where invited to participate and with over 150 registrations there was for sure enough interest.

We design complex alternative builds from existing LEGO sets. So it is really easy to get started and yet provide challenges. This requires thinking outside the box which makes our workshops unique.

One group build our latest GBC 53 Marble Music Machine while another group worked on our GBC 28 Pneumatic Scissor Elevator. Both unique in their own way using very different technologies, like pneumatics, mechanics and software! As a team we guided them on how to split the big machines into submodules and how to work together on it.

After a full day of building we ended up with 17 times the GBC 53 Marble Music Machines and 8 times the GBC 28 Pneumatic Scissor Elevator! It was a great day with amazing results and the aftermovie speaks for itself.

Thanks to Sioux Technologies and all their awesome master builders! It was an absolute joy!

GBC Workshop – Learn while building

Last Saturday we had the joy of organising a GBC Workshop here in the Netherlands together with the HetMartinBuber College. Many builders took a turn and together we were able to complete modules from the GBC 21 Mine Factory. Focussing on all the mechanical aspects which bring this machine alive. It was great to see the many builders collaborating together and getting stuff done!

Spirograph Workshop

Last year we provided a very cool workshop for the HetMartinBuber college in the Netherlands. Students used programming, mechanical and artistic skills to create beautiful patterns. All was possible by using our Smart Spirograph Spinner and Pybricks for coding.

Workshop for our minister of education Mariëlle Paul

Last week, during our Record Blaster workshop, we had the honor of meeting Mariëlle Paul, our minister of education here in the Netherlands. We explained our Steam education approach and how our Record Blaster (Made from LEGO) was used as a tool to educate students about physics, math, programming and more. The delegation was very interested and could see for themselves how this was put into action during a workshop we provided for the HetMartinBuber college.
