Important note: Although these building instructions are free, you may NEVER distribute these building instructions to anyone else or make public on other locations!

We have collaborated with SAM Labs to create this Spirograph Spinner! This Spirograph Spinner is entirely built using only parts from the LEGO Bucket Wheel Excavator and can be referred to as model C of the 42055. The whole machine is powered by one LEGO motor which comes with the LEGO 42055 Set.

Note: It is not required to have SAM Labs modules to build the Spirograph Spinner, it just gives you more options and flexibility in controlling the speed of different mechanisms. We have made it easy to swap the LEGO Motor out for SAM Labs DC motors. More information in the building instructions.

  1. Jan Bassett

Generally excellent. Some of the build images are off-centre and obscured by the PV-P watermark in the top-right corner. Some of the build steps are also small requiring zooming in and out repeatedly to be able to complete the build. Sometimes you have to skip a few steps forwards to work out where a part or sub-assembly is fitted as it’s location can’t always be determined in the diagrams.

  2. Haydn Bold

A nice, good instructions build. Recommended

  3. Saefkow Anton

It’s a really good thing to play with, you can design many templates and they are beautiful

  4. Daan Rorije

  5. Yury Tolmadzhev

hey, guyz! thanks for the instructions! gonna test with my two children today. one thing bothers me – what is that last “tray” used for? a separate part looking like an upside-down table with 6 legs???))))

      Hi Yury,
Thanks for your review. These steps are only for using our Spirograph in combination with SAM Labs. See also page 9 in the building instructions.
      Have fun building! :)

My 7,5 year old daughter built it. With exception of pages 67 & 68 she built it compltely by herself. Pages 67 – 69 should be re-done as it is impossible to assemble the way it is suggested. Other than that this is a great build which is enjoyed a lot by the whole family.

Built multiple of these spirographs together with my class and they really enjoyed it. So facinating to watch the machine work and cool to see what the kids can come up with. Had a lot of really nice looking patterns which are now decorating the classroom:) I love the fact that you learn whlie you create things. thanks for the great idea and excelent building instructions. Also got some GBCs for our next class together! Thanks!!

If you don't have the required LEGO set there is still a chance you can build our models by using parts you already have. Most technic models use a lot of the same and/or replaceable parts. When watching the video and checking upon the building instructions you can easily see which parts can be replaced if you desire so.
What cool color designs can you come up with?!
