You have ordered our GBC Glow Balls (you are awesome!) but how to charge them to make them glow in the dark? Or did you always wanted to play around with glow in the dark/Fluorescent LEGO parts or other cool lighting effects for your LEGO models? Then our Ultraviolet (UV) LED Strip is the perfect addition to your LEGO collection!
We have developed a very powerful Ultraviolet (UV) LED Strip which is 100% compatible with the LEGO system. With 60 individual UV LEDs your creations will light up brighter as ever before. An in house developed Power Box takes care of the power consumption to make the LED Strip perform as efficient and optimal as possible. This extends the lifetime of your batteries drastically and even almost empty batteries will perform the same as brand new batteries.
Plug & Play
The UV LED Strip is 100% compatible with the original LEGO Power Functions and Powered Up system which makes it really Plug & Play – no electronics knowledge is needed! Installation is as easy as connecting the LEGO Power connector to the LEGO battery box / hub. You can also power the UV LED Strip using the Micro USB connector on the Power Box. When programming the LED Strip for the LEGO Powered Up system you can use the purple led block in the LEGO Powered Up App.
A special transparent coating makes the UV LED Strip very robust and waterproof without loosing any of the great flexibility of the strip. The LED Strip is only 1 stud wide it is really easy to install the LED Strip in place by making your own holders of LEGO parts. If you are looking for a more permanent installation you can also use the double sided self-adhesive backing which can be used to stick the LED Strip directly on to LEGO beams and plates.
For the Powered Up system: To test if the Ultraviolet (UV) LED Strip for LEGO is working properly you can test it with our sample programs. You can find these and more information in the software tab above. Simply connect the Ultraviolet (UV) LED Strip for LEGO to a LEGO PU Hub – port A. When pressing the green play button, the Ultraviolet (UV) LED Strip for LEGO should turn on. Click to enlarge.
Light up your LEGO
For Glow in the Dark materials, like our GBC Glow Balls, it only takes our UV LED Strip a few seconds to charge them and keep them shining for minutes on end!
Next to our GBC Glow Balls there are many other LEGO elements which look great under UV light. Besides this practical use of our UV LED Strip it also creates an awesome purple glow light effect over your LEGO creations! Want to create custom animations with your UV LED Strip like blinking and fading? See also the software tab above for more info.

It works great, good UV intensity but if you want to turn it on/off independent of the motors you cannot use LEGO Power Functions switch. So an independent LEGO battery or a USB Power Bank might be necessary.

The UV LED strip either works with the Power Functions battery box or is connected to a micro USB. I would recommend the latter and use a simple power bank as it is easier to charge again.
Two tips: The closer the gbc glow balls roll to the UV LED strip and the longer they stay in the vicinity, the brighter they shine. Take notice: The strip has a rubber-like surface, so that the balls tend to get caught if the assembly is too tight. The strips can be super easily installed due to the nice dimensions and with a few Lego Technic parts without having to be glued on: all you need is a black 3-axis spin, a 2-axis and two thin 1×2 lifting arms, one on the bottom and one on the 2-axis and the axis turns. The UV LED strip can be clamped in the space between the two axes and the lifting arms and then inserted into the lifting arms at any point thanks to the pin.
