LEGO provides some ways to control the motor speed by using special remotes or custom software. Optionally you can also gear down the mechanisms but sometimes this just doesn’t fit in the space or it not accurate enough. When using the default LEGO Power Functions battery box Bricklink.com: Part #8881 you will have 100% power or no power. Then there is the option to use a special battery box Bricklink.com: Part #8878 which allows to control power in 8 steps. At last there is the setup to use the Power Functions remote control system, but boy, this is getting out of hand! We just want to control the motor speed or light brightness with single rotating knob. Well, we have got you covered on this.

Once you have got your hands on our Power Controller for LEGO you will never go back. Not only is our Power Controller for LEGO easy to operate, it also has some unique features which play so much better with your LEGO models.

First of all lets cover the geek speak! Our Power Controller for LEGO has a stepless power regulation system which means you can set the motor speed exactly like you want it. Instead of the 8 steps of the official LEGO system we give you infinite steps and precision, literally! Infinite freedom for the win! Identification points at the front will tell you where the knob is positioned and gives you a good reference where to set it to next time you power on the motor.
At the bottom side of the Power Controller we have included 2 LEGO Technic connection holes which are really handy when you want incorporate the Power Controller into your LEGO models. It is all designed to the LEGO dimensions so there are many ways to make it fit neatly into your builds.
To gain even more on the flexibility we decided it was best to extend the Power Functions connector with a short cable. This enables freedom in positioning the Power Controller for LEGO anywhere you like and you are not restricted to the battery box location. Neat!

This compact and robust Power Controller for LEGO is 100% compatible with all the LEGO Power Functions devices like motors and lights. Use it with any LEGO Power Functions battery boxes or with our USB Power Box – PF/PF. No electronics knowledge is needed and installation is as easy as connecting the power connector to the compatible LEGO power system. Simple and reliable.

Compatibility & Use Cases

To use the Power Controller for LEGO correctly it is important to note 2 matters. Connecting it not in the correct way will result in incorrect functioning of the Power Controller.

• Firstly note that the bottom side (anti-studs) of the Power Functions connector is the input of the Power Controller. You need to connect this to a LEGO Power Functions battery box or our USB Power Box – PF/PF. You will notice that the 2 middle contacts are missing here which is by design!
• Secondly note that the top side (studs) of the Power Functions connector is the output of the Power Controller. You need to connect your LEGO motors or lights to this side. You can also add a LEGO Power Functions Switch after the Power Controller and before the motor to change the motor spinning direction.
• You can connect our compatible electronics in many ways but the most common and default order stacked on top of each other would be:
  USB power source (Micro USB) → USB Power Box – PF/PF → Power Controller → Power Switch → Technic Motor
