When you think of GBCs or other automated machines you think of motorized systems which can work on their own. The bigger LEGO sets often come with a LEGO motor, however the smaller LEGO sets lack this feature unfortunately. LEGO has good reasons to include or exclude a LEGO motor in some of their sets but for our models it is a feature which we gladly welcome. Although you can power all our models by hand (which don’t come with a motor) we have provided options to upgrade them with a motor.

As you may already know we rebuild existing LEGO sets into new models. From the beginning on we have kept motor inclusion in mind in the design process and created pre-mounts to easily upgrade your model in a second. Here we explain the ins and outs of powering your LEGO model by an external motor.

Most of the LEGO Technic motors will work for our motor upgrade and often we use the powerful LEGO L motor. Just make sure that the motor you use has the 4 LEGO Technic attachment holes upfront to it’s easy to connect to our models.
If for some reason the LEGO motor doesn’t directly fit into our models (like a LEGO train motor or the old LEGO Buggy motor) you can simply add some custom supports with the left over pieces from the LEGO set. However most of the times this is no issue and it is just a matter of click and play.

So many options. Which version to choose?

No worries, we know it can be overwhelming to choose. To get the best of all worlds regarding size, speed and power we advise getting the L motor. This motor works great on our models which are created of LEGO sets which don’t have a LEGO motor included by default. We have the Technic L Motor for LEGO available above.

How to power your motor?

To power the Technic L Motor you need a power source. We use our USB Power Box – Power Functions PF/PF in combination with our Power Controller for LEGO. This gets power from an USB adapter you may already have at home and replaces the batteries in a LEGO battery box. Never batteries again!
Often it is important to run your LEGO model or GBC at the exact correct speed to make it work as intended. Our Power Controller for LEGO does exactly this with infinite steps and precision.
Our Motor Power Pack includes everything you need to start automating. How handy!

Get rid of the batteries!

Looking for a way to power your models without the need of batteries? Take a look at our USB Power Box options which we have available for various LEGO systems.
We also have adapter cables available which allow for combining the Power Functions and Powered Up system. Maximum flexibility!

Motor as to be expected. used it in the gbc 43 so it runs with me having to rotate the handle. Works great in combination with the usb power box from pvproductions. I used the 9V and the PF version. both options work good.
